Andrea Di Nicola is an associate professor of criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, where he lectures Criminology and Applied Criminology.
In 2021 he was named director of the Center of Security and Crime Sciences at the Universities of Trento and Verona.
Since more than 20 years, he has been covering topics such as urban security and predictive policing, environmental criminology, the links between crime and the Internet, economic and organized crime, and migration. He has been focusing on other topics like the smuggling of immigrants and asylum seekers, and human trafficking.
He has collaborated on these issues with the United Nations, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Spanish Congress and the Italian Ministry of Justice and Equality.
RELEVANT INFORMATION
Together with Giampaolo Musumeci, he is co-author of Confessions of a Human Trafficker, published in Italy, France, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Finland and Taiwan. The book deals with the smuggling and trafficking of people into Europe.
