Begoña Gómez Urzaiz is a Spanish journalist, writer, and professor. She is a regular contributor to media outlets such as El País, La Vanguardia, and RTVE, and has also written for Vogue and Vanity Fair. In addition to her journalism work, she teaches in the Master’s program in Literary Journalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
RELEVANT INFORMATION
In 2022, she published her first book, The Abandoners: On Mothers and Monsters, an essay that intertwines her personal experience with motherhood and the stories of historical women and fictional characters who have defied the traditional image of the “perfect mother.”
The book has been translated into four languages, including English.
