Ledicia Costas is a Galician writer. She studied Law at the University of Vigo. She started writing when she was very young, and while she was studying Law she won several literary awards, with both her short stories and her poetry. She fully dedicates herself to literary creation.

Ledicia Costas has been awarded with numerous important prizes throughout her career, such as the Premio Merlín de Literatura Infantil, the Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil, the Premio Fervenzas Literarias, the Premio Losada Diéguez de Creación Literaria, and the prestigious White Ravens Awards. She was selected to be part of Ibby’s List of Honour at the International Congress in Auckland, New Zealand. She was also awarded with the Premio Lazarillo for her novel A balada dos unicornios, thus becoming the only Galician author to have won this prize twice.
