Pedro Mañas is among the most emblematic authors of children and young adult literature in Spain. His degree is in English Philology from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Today, Pedro balances his literary career with events and activities in educational centers, all in hopes of promoting reading in young audiences. Besides this, his other great facet is theater, directing many children and adult productions with his company La Cama sin Hacer. His novel The Secret Life of Rebecca Paradise (La vida secreta de Rebecca Paradise) is the winner of the very prestigious El Barco de Vapor Award. Among the most important awards the author has received are: first place at the XXVI Vila d’Ibi Children’s Narrative Contest, the XII Annual Literatura Infantil Leer es Vivir Award, the III Annual Literatura Infantil Ciudad de Málaga Award and the Narrativa Breve Award.
