Ramón Paso

Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of Ramón Paso.

Ramón Paso is a Spanish playwright, screenwriter, and stage director. He is the grandson of the playwright Alfonso Paso and great-grandson of the writer Enrique Jardiel Poncela. In addition to his work as a screenwriter, he has produced more than thirty theatrical productions as a playwright and stage director.

Among his most recent successes are Usted tiene ojos de mujer fatal…en la radio and Otelo a juicio – which he directed and premiered at the Fernán Gómez theater; El reencuentro, at the Maravillas theater; or The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, at the Teatro Lara, which he produced and directed.

We can also highlight titles such as Matadero 36/39, El mono azul, Papá es Peter Pan y lo tengo que matar, La ramera de Babilonia, Herejía de una musa impía and Huevos con amor, all of which have premiered in some of the main theatrical venues in Spain.

He is a finalist for the Valle-Inclán Theater Award for the direction and authorship of Las Leyes de la relatividad aplicadas a las relaciones sexuales.

His publications include anthologies of short stories, like Las mujeres son malas and Noche de juegos, and his plays El Tesoro, La ramera de Babilonia and Papá es Peter Pan y lo tengo que matar.

In addition, he has worked as a television scriptwriter for some of the most important audiovisual production companies in the country (Globomedia, Bocaboca, Sony Pictures…).

 

RELEVANT INFORMATION

His latest work for television was on Los habitantes de la casa deshabitada, produced by Focus audiovisual for TVE and TV3, in which he was scriptwriter and director.

As a television scriptwriter, he has more than 100 episodes under his belt, including some of the most outstanding shows on Spanish television networks like Compañeros and Matrimonio con hijos.

He has participated as a writing advisor on the play Tratos by Miguel de Cervantes and Jardiel, un escritor de ida y vuelta by Enrique Jardiel Poncela, directed by Ernesto Caballero. He was also an advisor on La autora de “Las Meninas”, which also counted on Ernesto Caballero’s writing and direction; and on Un soñador para un pueblo by Antonio Buero Vallejo, directed by Ernesto Caballero. All of these were produced by the Spanish Drama Center (Centro Dramático Nacional).
