Tomás Eloy Martinez (Argentina 1934) published various essays, novels, short stories and screenplays. In 1995 with his novel Santa Evita he established himself as one of the most successful Argentinian writers at international level. His works have been translated into more than 25 languages and published in more than 30 countries, and are now recognized as one of the biggest achievements in contemporary Latin American narrative. Novels like The flight of the Queen reunite suspense, eroticism and the best ingredients from Eloy Martinez’s literature.

 

INTERESTING FACTS

He won the Premio Internacional Alfaguara de Novela for The flight of the Queen in 2002. In 2008 he received the Premio Cóndor de Plata, by the Cinematography Chroniclers’ Association of Argentina. He was granted the Premio Ortega y Gasset de Periodismo in 2009. He worked as a professor in Rutgers University in New Jersey and regularly collaborated with The New York Times, El País and La Nación (Buenos Aires).
