A weekend full of surprises which will change everyone’s life.
Cristina has two recurring nightmares: in one of them, the protagonist is her high school sweetheart John, who abandoned her after their first time. In the other, she dreams of her former partner, Sebas, who scammed her and ruined her business. She works as a waiter ever since then.
Cristina, or as her friends call her, Crisi, has just woken up from one of these dreams when she receives some news: her old friend group from school has organized a trip to San Juan beach, the place that brought them together years ago. And although it’s probably not the best idea to join a trip she can’t really afford; she decides to join her friends and cross her fingers that her high school ex John hasn’t decided to come as well.
Obviously, John does join the trip. And he’s not alone, he has brought his stunning brunette girlfriend with him. Her name is Miranda, she is arrogant and mean, and goes as far as insulting Cristina’s cat, which is something she won’t let pass.
But Crisi, although she has gone through a lot, is full of life and isn’t going to let her problems from the past dampen her smile, her sense of humor, or her zest for life. One day, Crisi is a bit tipsy, and she falls down the stairs, only to have no other than her ex-boyfriend John take care of her.
Those moments alone while he helps her with the injury also serve to heal the wounds between them and reawake the spark.
They end up arguing, which leads to sex, or as she likes to call it: the most messed-up thing she has done in her life.
To make matters worse, while out with her friends, Crisi runs into Sebas, her deceitful former business partner. It is then that she discovers one of the true intentions her friends had when planning the trip: to track Sebas down. Sebas has stolen an ancient relic from John and Carlos’ boss, and they have been looking for him ever since.
In the end, this weekend getaway will be much more than a simple reunion. It will set the course for her future of everyone involved.
