Who is the classroom thief?
Room A is much like any other classroom in the world: there are students who are goody-two-shoes, some that are true trouble makers, some that are quite shy… all in all, a hodgepodge of personalities among the students. However, a series of thefts has interrupted the classroom’s normalcy. The teacher, bewildered by the recent events, cannot believe that there could really be a thief among her young students, and remains skeptical of the situation.
It all started with Roberta, who noticed that her coin purse was empty when making a trip to her backpack in search of a ruler from her pencil box. The news traveled all the way to the teacher’s ears, who doubted the rumors authenticity, considering that maybe Roberta dropped the coins on her way to class that morning. After just a few days, Ámbar’s golden pen, given to her by her father the night before, went missing.
Upon seeing what was happening and with frustration at an all-time high, some students in the classroom decided to take matters into their own hands. Luba and Roberta suggested Ramon and other classmates to help investigate the strange disappearances and ultimately find the culprit. For a whole week, they quietly patrolled the door to the courtyard, but after several days of this, the tensions among the students grew astoundingly. Some felt left out from the investigation, on top of that, there are no leads as to who the theft was, thus causing the detective team to want to disband.
However, before they could do so, the teacher’s wallet disappeared right from under her nose; the first moment the teacher does not doubt of the thief’s existence. So the detective team is back on and unmasking the offender will not be an easy task for the students of Room A.
As a result, all parents are called to a meeting at the school. The investigation team´s plan is for Luba to spy on the meeting to acquire information, but the spying doesn´t go as planned and she is both discovered and blamed for the thefts. Ramon, who cannot bear to see his innocent friend be blamed, decides to tell the headmistress the whole truth. On his way to the principal’s office, he meets Ivan, Roberta, Teresa and Anibal, who were in line to talk to the principal and Ramón interrogates them. They finally cave: what started with an innocent mistake turned into a big snowball effect. Aníbal was the one who stole the coins to do a magic trick, Teresa stole the golden feather, and Iván stole the 10 pesos from Miss Inés. Ramon convinces the boys not to talk to the headmistress, as he has something better in mind: to deliver the stolen items in an envelope. At last, everyone gets their belongings back.
