The action is set in an 18th century royal court, where the kings and their two twin daughters live. One of the twins is Leticia, beautiful but dumb; the other, Laura, ugly but intelligent. When ungraceful and hunchback Prince Riquet arrives, the situation turns around. Riquet wants to conquer Leticia’s heart. Will she find love and end up seeing beauty inside him, recovering at the same time, her own intelligence?

Buero Vallejo is the great theatrical author of the twentieth century. He won the Premio Miguel de Cervantes (1986) and the Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas (1996). In addition, he has received in four occasions the Premio Nacional de Teatro and also the Honorary Max Theatre Award, among many other distinctions.
