After her husband’s death, Amalia starts asking herself about the mysterious suffering and hiding attitudes he had months before dying. In order to find an answer to these questions, she gathers in the house all of Mauricio’s friends and family. They answer one by one that they defamed her in front of her husband. Finally, she chases them out of her house.
RELEVANT FACTS: This play belongs to the police subgenre. All the elements are present: unsolved mystery, a group of people in a house with no exit and, a dead body. The success of the play led to the production of the film of the same name, directed by Antonio Román (Spain, 1957).
Buero Vallejo is the great theatrical author of the twentieth century. He won the Premio Miguel de Cervantes (1986) and the Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas (1996). In addition, he has received in four occasions the Premio Nacional de Teatro and also the Honorary Max Theatre Award, among many other distinctions.
