The Tormented Duology tells the story of siblings Andrea and Cristóbal de la Garza, who experience a drastic change in their lives when their parents die in a car accident.
In Tormented Beauty, Cristóbal takes over the family business, leaving his sister Andrea in the care of his wife, Mayra.
Andrea is a 22-year-old girl, strong, determined, and rebellious, who opposes her brother’s marriage. She gets involved in a robbery that leaves her damaged, but thanks to her connections, she manages to evade prison.
As punishment, she is sent to work for a year at the Las Santas estate in Veracruz. Matías, the owner of the place and her brother’s best friend, takes care of her.
Matías keeps his distance, but over time he realizes that Andrea is a kind, brave, and hardworking girl, with whom he has a lot in common. For her part, Andrea discovers that Matías, seemingly cold and rude, is actually a sweet and generous person who understands her better than anyone. Both share a past full of suffering and a strong desire for improvement.
The mutual attraction soon turns into an unparalleled romance. However, the idyll does not last long, as Mayra, thirsty for power and greed, threatens Andrea and forces her to separate from Matías and her brother, so that without Andrea hindering her plans, she can take over the family inheritance. In Tormented Desire, after discovering Mayra’s true personality and separating from her, Cristóbal blocks his feelings and swears never to trust in love again. Kristián also has a dark past that makes her distrust people and not believe in love.
