When the storm passes (Cuando la tormenta pase)

The tide brings secrets from the past.

Following his successful debut as a writer, Roberto Lobeira, a journalist in search of inspiration, retreats to Ons, a remote Galician island. However, the peace he hopes to find dissipates due to the hostile reception from the locals, a coldness he cannot understand. The only person he manages to connect with is Antía Fraile, the eldest daughter of one of the island’s families, with whom he soon starts developing feelings.

Shortly after his arrival, a brutal storm hits the island, cutting off all communication with the outside world. At dawn, the tide brings a mysterious bundle to the shore, and soon after, a bloody offering appears at Roberto’s doorstep.

It appears that the enigmatic delivery is linked to a secret between the island’s two powerful and rival families: the Docampos and the Freires. On the Freire side, power is held by Rosalía Freire, the matriarch who warns Roberto of the island’s hidden dangers and stays close to her timid youngest daughter, Helena. On the Docampo side, the patriarch Ramón Docampo has a terrible temper and is seeking revenge for something that happened in the past. He is always accompanied by his fearsome eldest son, Luis.

Roberto is forced to uncover the origin of the bloody package he received and soon finds himself entangled in a family conflict that worsens with the arrival of Osvaldo Sala, the right-hand man of a Colombian drug lord. As disputes escalate, a wave of brutal crimes sweeps across Ons. Despite his efforts to stay out of the conflicts, Roberto’s attraction to Antía Freire pulls him deeper into the fray, all while slowly regaining the inspiration he had been seeking.
