Love arrives when you least expect it.

30 years ago, in the small town of Tigliobianco, lightning struck the cook of the world’s best strawberry cake. Today, legend has it that her lost cookbook, with the recipe, is hidden somewhere in the town.

Priscilla Greenwood, a popular romantic novelist experiencing a creative crisis, rents a Villa in Tigliobianco, aiming to relax and find inspiration.

There, she meets Cesare Burello, a handsome surgeon who is identical to the charming protagonist of one of her novels. It’s love at first sight. But Priscilla, who has already suffered too much from matters of the heart, tries to ignore her feelings.

Cesare is visiting his brother, although his real objective is to find the missing recipe book.

When their mutual attraction becomes too evident, Priscilla decides to let go and help Cesare in his search. Thus, they start a tender and passionate relationship and get to know each and every inhabitant of Tigliobianco.

However, the writer is not the only one who has noticed Cesare. The handsome doctor keeps receiving letters from a secret admirer.

The notes come from Laura, one of the girls in the town’s book club, who is trying to win him over with the help of her friend Irene, the club’s president.

Irene is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Cesare falls in love with Laura, and for this, she creates a mix-up that breaks Priscilla’s heart. Cesare will then have to find a way to win her back. Luckily, he will have the help of everyone and the recipe for the world’s best strawberry cake.
