An exemplary man who hid a dark secret.
Joaquín Ferrándiz was an exemplary man, hardworking and trustworthy. However, behind this façade hid a predator of women who strangled and disposed of the bodies of five young women between 1995 and 1996 in the province of Castellón.
In the late 1980s, Ferrándiz was released from prison after serving five years for raping a woman. Four months after his release, he murdered Sonia Rubio. His subsequent murders led to an innocent truck driver being imprisoned. In 1998, he was arrested by the Civil Guard after attacking two girls, and shortly afterward, he was linked as the perpetrator of a series of murders that had occurred in the area.
The killer served 25 years in prison and has been free since July 2023. Despite experts warning that he is dangerous, he claims that he just wants to be a normal person.
