Bones of San Lorenzo (Huesos de San Lorenzo)

In the tumultuous 1990s of San Lorenzo, Mexico, two twins, Rómulo, an ambitious lawyer, and Remo, an idealistic artist, face family betrayals and dark secrets when the accusation of murder against one of the twins tests their fraternal bond and triggers a tragic struggle for redemption that will transform their lives forever.

In the heart of San Lorenzo, Mexico, during the turbulent 1990s, two twins, Rómulo and Remo Ayala, trace a destiny marked by the polarity of their personalities. Rómulo, ambitious and pragmatic, constantly seeks the approval of his authoritarian father, Don Bernardo, while Remo, idealistic and artistic, feels trapped in his brother’s shadow and their oppressive paternal figure. The absence of their mother, Rosario, who is involved with the guerrilla and whom Don Bernardo has declared dead, weighs heavily on their childhoods, creating a void that further separates them.

As they grow up, the brothers find refuge in the circus of the enigmatic Gran Padilla, where they become escape artists. There, Rómulo develops a relationship with Magda, provoking jealousy and tension between the brothers. Manipulation and resentment permeate their bond, while Remo struggles to find his identity and voice. Tragedy strikes when Remo is accused of the brutal murder of Farid Sabag, a therapist connected to their father. In prison, Remo confronts his demons and meets Alberto, a psychologist who begins to question his guilt and delve into the dark relationship between the twins. Years later, after his release, Remo seeks out Rómulo, who has risen to power as a lawyer, and the accumulated tension explodes in a heart-wrenching climax.
