Nora Salinas is a firm and rigorous 45-year-old examining judge whose pulse does not flinch when it comes to convicting powerful businessmen. However, despite having achieved her professional success, she feels dissatisfied. Her work is strenuous meanwhile her husband Jaime and her have lost the spark in their relationship.
This pushes Nora to create an alter ego on a dating app to get out of her constantly tedious everyday routine. Looking at profiles, she stops at that of a man named Kairós, whose photo only shows a pair of piercing eyes and a description that reads: “I am your gaze.” Little by little their conversation begins to captivate Nora.
At the same time, with the use of flashbacks, the reader travels to the 90s where a young teenager named The Avenger is the victim of bullying by three schoolmates. Years later, The Avenger runs into one of her bullies and after agreeing to leave behind their past they strike up a friendship. However, everything changes when the former bully, deathly allergic to wasps, is stung suddenly stung. The Avenger, having in her possession an antihistamine that could save her life, chooses not use it, allowing the young woman to die. After this incident, The Avenger begins to search for her next victim, another one of the girls who had abused her. When she finds her, she poisons her with poppies.
Back in the present, Nora receives the news that her husband has suffered a heart attack. She is on the way to the hospital when she has a car accident that leaves her paraplegic. When she reunites with her husband at the hospital, she is surprised to discover that her husband never had a heart attack. The call she had received from the hospital earlier had been a fake.
Days later, Nora has a video call with Kairós to finally meet him. He assures her that he knows her true identity. This is when it is revealed that Nora was the third and last bully of The Avenger and that behind the identity of Kairós hides the Avenger, who had created an alter ego on the social network to get her revenge on Nora.
