Is love stronger than war?
The stories of women who share a common denominator: the same war. Six extraordinary women who, for various reasons, ended up being victims of an armed conflict from which they thought they could never escape, and who, in the midst of this drama, lived intense and memorable love stories.
The protagonists are Colombian women who recall what led them to take up arms, to fight for ideals they considered valid and often lost along the way, to leave everything that belonged to them and set off in new directions, but especially how love managed to change everything for them.
It tells the story of Myriam, the love of Carlos Pizarro Leongómez, the leader of the now extinct guerrilla group M19. Then there’s Fabiola, who for 30 years mourned her late husband Libardo (a victim in the siege of the Palace of Justice) in the wrong grave. We also meet Alejandra and Ramiro, two former guerrilla soldiers who decided to enter the National Government’s reinsertion program. We are also introduced to popular music singer Arelys Henao and the weight of the armed conflict on her career, and Sandra, who from a very young age was a victim of violence and saw no other way than to carry on her shoulders a rifle bigger than herself.
All the stories intertwine with each other and, while revealing a past marked by violence, they sow the sense of relief and hope left by true love stories: the love of a mother for her children; the love of our dreams; the love for our friends; the love of freedom; and the love of our ideals. Love as a force that makes the impossible possible.
