Pixelated Memories is a compilation of dozens of articles published in prestigious specialized media such as Retro Gamer or 3DJuegos, narrating some of the most relevant events in the video game industry in Spain between the 70s and the 90s. Many people have heard about the beginnings of video games. They nostalgically recall those afternoons in the arcades during the 80s, as well as the excitement of unwrapping the first console waiting for them under the Christmas tree.
However, very few know how this industry started and developed in Spain. Paco Menéndez, the creator of the historic video game *La Abadía del Crimen*, also designed a supercomputer. One of the great successes of Spanish video games, Commandos, was the work of a company that originally imported glasses and cigars… These are some of the highly interesting and mostly unknown anecdotes that Pixelated Memories gathers.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: Pixelated Memories is a novel written by Jesús Martínez del Vas, known as JMV. Jesús is a contributor to cinema and video game magazines (RH, ON-OFF, StarWars: Magazine, Superjuegos), some newspapers like Gaceta Universitaria (where his character BOK was born), or Marca, Negocio y estilo de vida, and specialized magazines like 3DJuegos or Retro Gamer.
He has won various awards, including the prestigious Young and Bright 99 Graphic Humor Contest Award. This work is currently in the writing process, and it is estimated to be published by the end of 2023.
