Amongst a series of students, most of them serious, hardworking and committed (except Lalo, whose only ambition is to never pass exams and enjoy university life), Natalia Valdés, Natacha, the first woman to become a Doctor in Pedagogy in Spain.
She hides her story to her companions, for she is an orphan and abandoned, and was educated in a reformatory. Only the adoption by Don Santiago, the rector of the University, has saved her from that place she remembers with horror. Sandoval, a doctor, comes to offer her the address of the Reformatory of the Blue Ladies, precisely the same one in which she was. Natacha accepts with the illusion of transforming that jail into a place of joy. Meanwhile, Lalo has declared his love to her, but she, with kindness, berates him for his irresponsibility and recommends him to face life.
RELEVANT FACTS: One of Casona’s first plays. It became very famous since it was premiered. It resulted in the movie with same name, directed by Julio Saraceni in Argentina.
Casona was one of the most important Spanish writers of the 20th century. He lived between Spain and Latin America, where his work had a great success in cinema and theatre, especially in Argentina, where several movies about his work were produced. He received the Premio Nacional de Literatura and the Premio de Teatro Lope de Vega, among others.
