The wrath of public opinion. A life altered forever.
Javier Mallarino is the most influential political caricature artist of the country, a man able to cause the repeal of a law, to disrupt the ruling of a judge, to knock down a town mayor or to seriously threaten the stability of a Ministry, and all of it with the sole weapons of paper and Chinese ink. Politicians fear him and the Government honors him. He is sixty-five years old, and after four decades of brilliant career he has the country is at his feet. But all of this will change once he receives the unexpected visit of his ex wife. After reminiscing about his past, Mallarino will see himself forced to re-evaluate his whole life, and to call his position in this world to question.
This story is a tense parable about the nooks in freedom of speech and the intricate mechanisms of public opinion; it is about how one instant can be enough to change from clarity to an existential crisis of doubts about his own life and work. When Mallarino realizes he is jealous of the aging of the body of his ex-wife, of the stretch marks in her hips and of the shadows of her buttocks, he understnds that these are the signs of everything he missed out, and he will be forced to re-evaluate his whole life.
