Mediterranean Saga (Saga Mediterráneo)

Your summers and my winters | Your nights and my days

Not all summer loves die when autumn arrives.

The Mediterranean Saga tells the stories of the first love of Maider and Rubén in Your Summers and My Winters, and of Unai and Lorena in Your Nights and My Days, two couples whose feelings arose during summer on the Mediterranean coast in the 90s.

In Your Summers and My Winters, the lives of Maider Azurmendi and Rubén Segura, her campmate, have followed separate paths since that summer they spent together. But first love is never forgotten.
As children, Rubén already showed his interest in Maider in the only way he knew: by teasing her. To Maider, Rubén was nothing but a nuisance until the summer of 1995, when she began to develop feelings for him and became receptive to Rubén’s signals.
Their bond grew stronger during the winter through the letters they exchanged, intensifying their feelings.
The summer of 1998 marks a turning point. Their relationship is more mature by then, but everything falls apart the night they lose their virginity and experience a mishap with the condom, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. Their relationship ends due to the poor treatment they received from the healthcare providers and Maider’s parents’ refusal to let them stay together.
Maider falls into a deep depression after the incident and spends two years without seeing Rubén again at the camp. But this time, Maider attends with her new boyfriend, further distancing them from each other.

Years later, as adults with established careers, they meet again. Maider doesn’t hesitate to open up and tell him everything she went through since their separation, but for Rubén, it’s already too late. He has been promoted at work and, if he doesn’t want to fail again in his career, he must move to another country. Although their love is now impossible, neither of them will forget the intense and deep love they shared those summers. However, their love is too strong, and they will be forced to fight for their relationship.

In Your Nights and My Days, the protagonists are Unai Azurmendi and Lorena Segarra, who met during a summer vacation in the 90s at the Voramar campsite, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. On one of those seemingly endless nights, Unai and Lorena promise to keep their friendship forever.

From then on, their relationship is marked by comings and goings. Unai becomes a constant support for Lorena, especially during her university studies, when they stay in touch through long phone conversations. It is then that Unai realizes he has always had strong feelings for Lorena and that he is in love with her. But their relationship is often complicated by the decisions they make and the external situations that affect them, such as the separations and occasional reunions that rekindle old emotions and unresolved conflicts.

In the present, Unai is married to Sara, but his marriage is in crisis, leading him to question his feelings and seek refuge in Lorena, who remains a steadfast support for him. This causes tensions in his marriage, as his wife Sara is aware of the connection between them.

Lorena, for her part, also faces her own emotional and professional dilemmas. Although she still feels a strong attraction to Unai, she is aware of the complications this entails.
Everything comes to a head when their paths cross at the same campsite where they first met. The beach is still there, holding the memories and secrets that were not revealed during that summer and that still weigh as heavily as they did then. Unai and Lorena must decide whether to make a change in their lives or continue ignoring their feelings.
