Slaughterhouse 36/39 tells of the terrible situations that millions of citizens, especially women, were subjected to during the Spanish Civil War. This work is composed of three independent scenes: “Resistance 36”, which tells the story of four prisoners locked up in a detention center; “Purging 38”, which is developed in an asylum where they conduct experiments with women who, due to their left wing ideology, are considered mentally ill; And “Survival 39,” centered on three militiamen who, crossing the Pyrenees to flee to France, find a fascist whom they do not know whether to kill or not. This work is, mainly, a story of victims. Victims who, throughout Spanish territory, suffered murders, rape, robberies, torture… at the hands of the rebellious side. Injustices that, to this day, are still unpunished.
