The Detective Erik Vogler Saga (Saga el Detective Erik Vogler)

The White King’s Crimes | Death at the Spa | The Curse of Misty Abbey-Castle | The Wrong Girl | Heartless | The Secret of Albert Zimmer | Checkmate | Revenge

One of the most original and funny teenage detectives ever written.

Erik Vogler is the geekiest and most obnoxious 15-year-old boy in the world: he is maniatic, extremely tidy, super scrupulous and his nerves are always all on edge. Despite being quite the coward, Erik seems to have a special skill to attract all sort of spooky events. His partner in these adventures is his own gradmother, Berta Vogler. She is a jack-of-all-trades and incredibly vital, a woman ahead of her time who thinks her grandson is a “snobby cold fish”.

The protagonist team is joined by Albert Zimmer, Berta’s neighbour’s son, who is also 15 years old, and who clashes with Erik’s personality. Erik does not seem to understand why Albert has such pale skin colour. In spite of being rivals, they will need each other to solve the upcoming mysteries.

Erik’s adventures begin in holidays when, instead of going to New York with his father as he had promised, he stays at his grandma’s in the countryside. Shut in his room, Erik is visited by a young ghost who happens to be one of the victims of the many murders that are shaking the whole country. From that moment onwards, the young detective will start his career in a mysterious and paranormal atmosphere.

Another case takes place in a spa, where an old woman suddenly dies in front of Erik. She disappears right after Erik goes to get help. He will also have to investigate the many secrets hidden in the “haunted” Irish castle Erik inherits from his uncle Leonard.

Erik will also discover love. Cloé is a beautiful French girl he meets in a trip to France with his grandmother, who wants to reunite with her college friends. Erik will also need from his rival Albert to stop a serial killer who plans to kill his grandma and her friends.

Erik, Berta and Albert become an inseparable trio who will come across all sort of detective cases. Thanks to their shrewdness, delicacy, and peculiar personalities, but also thanks to chances and lucky strikes, there won’t be a mystery they’ll be unable to solve.
