The double story of Doctor Valmy exposes the case of Daniel Barnes, a torturer who, by castrating a detainee, self-punishes, despite himself, falling into sexual impotence. In this state, he comes to the consultation of Doctor Valmy, a psychologist. For her part, Daniel’s wife, Mary, who until now lived in ignorance of her husband’s activities and the general situation, is horrified when she discovers the truth.

Buero Vallejo is the great theatrical author of the twentieth century. He won the Premio Miguel de Cervantes (1986) and the Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas (1996). In addition, he has received in four occasions the Premio Nacional de Teatro and also the Honorary Max Theatre Award, among many other distinctions.
