A group of girls from a small town come to the city in order to work as prostitutes. At work, Fany meets Joseph and falls in love with him. She is willing to leave everything behind to be with him but he rejects her, even though he loves her, because he is too worried about what people may think. Thus, a dispute starts between the two of them: she tries to hold him, and he tries to leave her. In the end, both of them will fail.
RELEVANT FACTS: This play was made into the famous movie Panthers Eat Rich Guys (Ramón Fernandez, 1969), and also taken to television.
Mihura, a playwright, journalist and screenwriter, is considered the main inventor of the Theatre of the Absurd, and the most outstanding comedian in Spanish language through the 20th century. Mihura wrote the scripts of more than twenty-five movies, among which stands out Welcome Mr. Marshall, film directed by Luis García Berlanga in 1952.
