Alfredo, an administrative worker bachelor, has few objectives in life; one of them is conquering a woman, no matter who. Therefore, the protagonist will attempt conquering the heart of Mariví, Elena and Lulú, but, in the end, he is not able to do so. Overwhelmed by his failure and given his best friend’s many successes, he decides to marry his maid, Paca.
RELEVANT FACTS: The play was taken to cinema directed by Julián Soler in 1958. It was also adapted to TV several times in 1966, 1980 and 1989.
Mihura, a playwright, journalist and screenwriter, is considered the main inventor of the Theatre of the Absurd, and the most outstanding comedian in Spanish language through the 20th century. Mihura wrote the scripts of more than twenty-five movies, among which stands out “Welcome Mr. Marshall”, film directed by Luis García Berlanga in 1952.
