Serafín is a very pretentious young man, proud of his success with women. He meets Jesusa, who falls in love with him. However, the reputation he has as a womanizer makes Jesusa grow apart from him. That is when Jesusa’s parents try to convince her in order to marry a rich old man, Mr. Lucio. After many misadventures, Jesusa ends up rejecting the rich man and going back to Serafín, but this will only work if he promises to change his attitude.
RELEVANT FACTS: Arniches was part of the brilliant Generation of ’98, and comedies were his specialty. Many of his plays were adapted to cinema.
