The action takes place in an outskirts hotel, during the night spent there by Dionisio, the main character. He is there waiting: he gets married the next day. During these hours, he meets Paula, a young dancer from a theatre company who is temporarily in town. Paula and the company introduce him into an unknown world: Dionisio reconsiders marrying and escaping with Paula. Finally, he is resigned and he abandons the hotel to attend his wedding.

Everything takes place in one night and one place: two characters meet by chance in a hotel’s room and this meeting opens the door for dreams and hope. There is only one problem: they have to be quick or the door will close forever.
Mihura, a playwright, journalist and screenwriter, is considered the main inventor of the Theatre of the Absurd, and the most outstanding comedian in Spanish language through the 20th century. Mihura wrote the scripts of more than twenty-five movies, among which stands out Welcome Mr. Marshall, film directed by Luis García Berlanga in 1952.
