The play opposes the decline of the middle-aged and the splendor of youth. Amelia, Ernesto and Julia belong to the first group. The first two are cynical and conscious of the role their age makes them take on. Julia, on the contrary, is optimistic and still thinks she can inspire joyfulness. On the other side, Charly y Hermi are young, they leave Ernesto and Julia respectively, whom they were leeching off and fall in love with each other. Finally, Julia resigns herself to admit reality.
