The most horrible thing is hidden in the pearls
Kauffman, an important lawyer from Madrid and the Grand Duke consultant, is visited by a jeweler, also surnamed Kauffman. The reason is to let him know that two pearls of the mythical necklace known as the Waterfall of the Persian Sea, in whose buying and selling he was involved some years ago, are missing.
The jeweler ensures that the two pearls missing are in his possession and urges him to negotiate with the anonymous owner the acquisition of both. When Kauffman contacts the owner – a billionaire businessman known by the nickname of Grand Duke – the jeweler appears brutally murdered. The lawyer decides to get to the bottom of the matter and ends up getting involved in an international web of illegal business that threatens his physical integrity.
