Eo

Pedro is a 10-year-old kid who lives with his mother in a poor neighbourhood of the city. His mother works long hours everyday at a bar. When Pedro is home alone, he spends the time playing video games or watching the TV. One day, when he was walking on the outskirts of the city, Pedro meets Eo, an elephant that escaped from the circus.

This unexpected meeting awakes in Pedro a series of new curiosities and encourages the stimuli closeness, companionship and friendship. Instead of telling everybody about Eo, he decides to keep his new friend a secret (except to his mother, who does not listen to him anyway). The elephant remains hidden close to the marsh and far from dangerous adults. Thanks to Eo, Pedro learns to become responsible, organized and disciplined. He learns the importance of friendship and loyalty, but also learns to avoid dangers and to make difficult decisions. Thanks to the elephant, Pedro will grow up.

However, one day Eo is found and the police, several neighbours and the media see in him a monstrous threat. In an act of desperation, Pedro will run away astride the elephant. But his plan will not last long. The police cordon will gradually close in on the elephant, putting the boy´s life in danger.

RELEVANT DATA: Eo is such an intimate story about friendship and the existing dichotomy between the life of children and that of adults. Thanks to Cerezo’s incredible narrative technique, Eo is a work to be enjoyed by a wide range of audience.

It is worth mentioning that even though the story would fit within the adventure genre, it contains strong educational and moral values.
