Coque Brox is a police inspector, chief of the Disappearances Group of the Barcelona National Police. It’s been a while now that his life is a disaster. The loss of his seven-year-old son meant the rejection of his family, so now he has to share an apartment with a forensic surgeon who is addicted to online games. The story starts with the inexplicable disappearance of the police officer Palma. It was a violent kidnapping in which Brox himself ended up with a wound in his head that turned his color blindness into achromatopsia, that is, he now sees everything in black and white. Despite being relegated from the case by his superintendent, Brox will keep investigating in the shadows. He is aided by a 65-year-old hacker called “El Aspas”, able to do what court orders cannot do, and with whom he will try to understand what does an organized group that corrupts minors through the Internet have to do with the disappearance of Palma. He will also have the help of Jalil, the interpreter of Arabic of the Police Headquarters who knows all the ins and outs of the town.
Coque Brox fights to get back the love of his daughter; he falls in love with a beautiful woman; he keeps investigating and fools the superintendent, who won’t let him out of his sight; he suffers the constant suicide attempts of his ex-wife… and, most of all, he experiences an NDE (Near-Death Experience). What he would have never imagined is that there are supernatural places that hold the truth, although the way to them remains a mystery. For life knows nothing about death.
