Scenic Rights is the audiovisual co-agency of Edgar Neville.

Edgar Neville (Madrid, 1899) was a writer, playwright, filmmaker and painter. He’s considered one of Spain’s XXth century geniuses. He cultivated every genre: theatre, poetry, novel, cinema, painting, and in each one, humor was his motto. When he became a diplomat, he was named consul in Los Angeles, that’s how he got to Hollywood. He was a very popular writer and filmmaker both in America and Spain.

 

INTERESTING FACTS

His career as Filmmaker is as vast, or more, than his literary career.

He lived in Granada where he was friends with Federico Garcia Lorca and Manuel de Falla, who highly influenced on him.

He worked with Charles Chaplin, who hired him as an actor and opened paths for him; the Metro Goldwyn Mayer hired him as dialogist and screenwriter.

He won the National Literature Prize in 1952.

He received the National Award for Cinematography in 1960.
