Julia Fermentto Tzaisler is a journalist, essayist, critic, and holds a Ph.D. in American Jewish Literature from UC San Diego. Tzaisler has been appointed Artistic Director of the prestigious Jerusalem Writers Festival at Mishkenot Sha’ananim.

Tzaisler has been acclaimed by the Israeli press as one of the new voices of her generation. Her debut novel was a bestseller in Israel, and her short stories have been translated and published in several languages.
Her book KfarSaba 2000 was awarded the Young Authors Award by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and was named Book of the Year by the municipality of Tel Aviv and the popular magazine Time Out.
