A woman, all about business and city life, decides that to achieve her dream of a perfect life, she wants to become a mother. But this new adventure teaches her that perfection is just an illusion, and despite transforming from a businesswoman into an improvised farmer, what truly matters lies elsewhere. Inspired by a true story!
Lucía is at the height of her career. She has an excellent job in the fashion industry, and her boyfriend, Jeremy, a filmmaker, is the perfect man. But despite having the life many dream of, Lucía feels incomplete and decides to get pregnant.
With great effort, Lucía succeeds, but soon after, she loses the baby. Doctors advise her not to try another pregnancy, so she considers adoption and meets Miguel, a four-year-old boy who instantly captures her heart. She decides to adopt him.
However, problems quickly arise. Jeremy distances himself from the adoption, leading to their breakup. Meanwhile, Miguel is far from the perfect child Lucía envisioned. He speaks impulsively, has uncontrollable fits of rage and apathy, ruins Lucía’s dates with a new lover, and struggles to make friends. These issues eventually lead to a diagnosis of ADHD.
As Lucía adapts to new parenting challenges, she ends up dedicating too much time to Miguel and gets fired from her job. Overwhelmed, she has no choice but to return to the farm where she grew up, where her father and sister Sara still live—both of whom are her polar opposites.
Her father rejects Miguel, treating him with disdain, while Sara can’t stand Lucía. Despite the difficulties, Miguel is happy in this rural setting. He loves nature, animals, and the slower pace of life. Lucía, however, struggles to adapt. She can’t find a job and can’t get along with Sara or her father.
Just as she decides to leave, her father passes away, leaving her half of the farm.
Lucía, once a career-driven woman accustomed to cocktails and business meetings, transforms into a single mother and farmer. But, as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. Everything Lucía once despised eventually becomes, not without challenges and comedic moments, exactly what she and her son truly need.
