The play begins with Miss Alice Carrington, clearly pregnant, waiting in the altar with her father and the priest to get married to Oscar Sheville. Suddenly, a shot is heard far away and Philip Calwright comes to the church to announce that Oscar has been murdered. Following these events, Sherlock arrives to the mansion of the inbred family, where he will interview all the members in an attempt to solve the crime. It is not the typical Sherlock Holmes, but a parody of jokes and sexual gags.
RELEVANT FACTS: Played for year in theaters and taken to TV, it has an interesting plot that would give place to an original thriller given the various characters portrayed in it.
Moncada won the Premio Nacional Calderón de la Barca in 1956 and 1963 (shared). He was also awarded the Planeta Award.
