The plot starts with the confession of Juana I of Castilla with the father Francisco de Borja the night before she dies. From there, the monarch goes out to the most important moments of her life, while in her speech takes the viewer to travel over the History of Spain. In this great flashback the queen raises her voice with lucidity against all those who took her into exile, turning her into a shadow: first her husband Felipe “El Hermoso”, then her father, Fernando “el Católico”, who confines her to Tordesillas, and, finally her son Carlos V, who ignores her. All of them made her pass as alienated in order to incapacitate her in her duties and to fulfill their ambitions.
RELEVANT FACTS: The play focuses on a single character, a woman with one of the most moving stories in Spanish history, Juana of Castilla, better known as Juana, the Mad. We follow the character in her adventures until her tragic ending, alone and abandoned by all.
