Quino, the main character, 42 years old, is a television scriptwriter in a temporary basis , who is going through a mid-life crisis after turning forty. He has also been abandoned by his wife “because you are fat and bald“; he assures his wife said this when she left. His wife has left the family home and expects Quino to sell it in order to receive half of the price. Selling the apartment causes him a great distress as it means, among other things, losing Carmen forever.
